QHSE Manager, Digital Transformation Architect?

QHSE et transformation digitale

At a time when digitization of company is crucial to guarantee its sustainability and survival in a competitive and globalized economy, the qualities required to effect this transformation seem to be already in the DNA of QHSE managers.

Digital transformation is a process that began in the last century by computerizing the company with software packages like ERP (Enterprise resource planning), HRIS (Human Resource Information System), office automation suites, EDMs, and Intranets.

The company must go further by digitizing 100% of its business. Thinking strategically in "digital first" mode! Transforming the company by digitizing all its processes, digitizing some on tablets and smartphones, using social networks, software, algorithms and data. All these points are today crucial to guarantee its sustainability and survival in a globalized competitive economy.

A key factor in the success of this digital transformation lies in the minds, behaviors and practices of human resources. This requires changing the mindset of the company.

This involves a well-sequenced launch of multiple simple and short projects (analysis, design, testing and deployment to business referrers) with the approval of the concerned teams and a communication of progress to all employees.

Required qualities (listening, sense of the ground, analysis and synthesis) and used methods (" plan-do-check-act ") already appear in the DNA of the Quality and HSE managers.

Do you think that digital transformation should be carried out by the Quality and HSE manager, new Chief Digital Officer (CDO) or Chief Transformation Officer (CTO)?
